Miami’s Lubavitch Educational Center launched the new school year welcoming 2,500 students into six buildings across five campuses, including two newly acquired facilities, marking a major milestone in the institution’s rapid growth.
“With Hashem’s help and the Rebbe’s brochos, we had a successful first day of school across all eleven divisions—from our infants in Early Stages to our bochurim in Yeshiva Gedolah,” says Rabbi Benjy Korf, Head of School.
The expansion includes a new Mesivta campus in Miami Gardens and two wings of a recently-purchased building on an expanded Campus Chaya Mushka, adjacent to the Beit Apel girls’ school. The new facility houses the Rebbetzin Rivka Korf Preschool Building—generously dedicated by Avraham and Brochie Shaulson—and the Rebbetzin Rochel Pinson High School Building, home to Beis Chana High School, dedicated by Reut and Mendel Pinson.
“We are thankful to our generous supporters who have made this growth possible,” Rabbi Korf says.
Preparing the new spaces for school required around-the-clock work throughout the summer. “We had shifts of construction crews working 24/6 to make sure the buildings were ready and helping us move in,” says Rabbi Menachem Mendel Korf, who oversaw the renovation projects. “The speed at which the buildings were renovated was extraordinary.”
When students arrived, they were warmly greeted by their teachers in beautiful classrooms. “We are lucky to have the most incredible team at LEC, with close to 500 staff members who are all dedicated to the chinuch of our children,” said Rabbi Yossi Zavdi, Associate Head of School. “They remain the heart of our school.”
“Boruch Hashem, we are off to a great start,” says Rabbi Benjy Korf
