As the Resource Room Lab Instructor, you have the chance to build relationships and support students in their individual learning. You will be supervising and assisting students who are working on individualized computer programs to build basic reading and math skills.  You will also be implementing some individual interventions provided by the Resource Room Director.

Job Requirements:  

  • Computer savvy & Great rapport with students needed. 
  • Ability to manage students working on individual computer programs.  
  • Supervising transitions to and from the regular classroom.  

Ideal job for a post-high school part-time student or future teacher!  

Hours: Monday – Thursday 12:30-4, Friday 12:30-2:15

Girls Elementary School – General Studies Resource Room Reading Specialist – Part Time Mornings

Work with small groups of girls on fundamentals of reading: fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, and building world knowledge.  Student needs vary.  Work with 2nd language learners, students from varying educational backgrounds, and some with learning disabilities.  

Experience or background in Special Education or ESL preferred.

General Studies Teacher

LEC’s General Studies Division is looking to hire teachers for grades 1-5 for the upcoming school year – 2021/2022.

As an elementary school teacher, you have the opportunity to set the tone for learning for the rest of a student’s life. You teach students to love learning and overcome the challenges and obstacles they face that keep them from reaching their goals. While adhering to the curriculum, our teachers are encouraged to find creative and engaging ways to teach students real-life applications of difficult concepts.

Teachers are responsible for teaching all subjects such as reading, science, social studies, grammar, writing, and mathematics. Teachers write weekly lesson plans for all subjects, including engagement and total participation techniques. They also help students develop critical thinking skills, learn to solve problems and understand abstract ideas. They develop and enforce classroom rules to teach proper behavior. In addition to grading papers and homework regularly, they communicate with students and parents to update them on their progress throughout the year.

Assistant teacher-1st grade

LEC’s General Studies Division is looking to hire 1st-grade assistants for the upcoming school year 2021/2022.

Teacher assistants provide additional support and instruction in the classroom under the supervision of a teacher. Specifically but not limited to,

  • Help children who need extra support to complete tasks.
  • Support teachers in managing classroom behaviors.
  • Supervise students during recess.
  • Work with students in small groups to reinforce lessons taught
  • Manage homework folders.
  • Make photocopies of necessary class material.
  • Attend weekly meetings.
  • Assess students’ progress.
  • Work with the teacher in maintaining a safe and healthy class culture.
